Ceccardo Roccatagliata Ceccardi e i moti anarchici della Lunigiana (1894) - Ceccardo Roccatagliata Ceccardi and anarchist movements of Lunigiana (1894)

crebbero querci di lo fiera traccia;
quei che di piccol secolo agli inganni
sparir mugghiando una civil minaccia.

E Alcun riuscirà, vendicatore,
di su bianco caval da l'apuana
rupe; fulminerà nel pian fuggente

un piccoletto re lusingatore: *
lui dietro, o ne l'azzurro Alpe sedente
tu, fatale Vandea repubblicana

* legioni romane
* Umberto I

In the booklet entitled " From the countries of anarchy " ( Impressions on the motions of 1894 in Carrara ) Ceccardo Roccatagliata Ceccardi (Genoa 1871-1919 ) recounts with heartbreaking passion with melancholy and regret, almost regretted not to participate in those events in the first person , the deportation of anarchists lunigiani who participated or who were suspected of having participated in the riots of 1894 in Carrara.
The people of Lunigiana, in the marble quarries exploited up to die on the job, a job obviously very dangerous and very tiring , he felt his ideas of Marx and Bakunin , because they spread " in the classes who suffer most , workshops, between the drive screaming , in mines where the " fire damp " bursts, in the quarries from which the marbles are removed they will do fine town houses ", with these words Ceccardo proves to have figured out how the proletarian classes can only make a revolution because it is from sufferers that can only be generated by the spark of freedom.
Ceccardo had lived as a boy in Ortonville , a town near Carrara , while faith Mazzini was struck by the words of Carlo Cafiero , who not long before had inflamed, in his own words , the hearts of the workers apuani .
Even with his poem "Freedom" in 1905, Ceccardo inspired by the inspiration  freedom to tyranny and intolerance seen as a historical cruelty remained in people's lunigiana up from the time of the Roman conquest .
In this poem is in particular the suggestion of Carducci  yearning for freedom understood as a social revenge that began long ago ( even by people Apuan subjugated by the Roman legions fatigue ) and that will be the bearer of the aspiration for freedom that remains a constant people of that land .

And you, Apua native, whether of a "soggiaccia"
even Italian priests and tyrants,
you, freedom rallies, and only pulling them
the dead by the echo of your grand 'years:

overwhelmed by those who "romulei vanni" *
fair oaks grew in the track;
those of small gift century that the deceptions
bellowed a civil threat will disappear.

And Any succeed, avenger,
of on white horse from the Apuan
cliff; "fulminerà" in the plain fleeting

a little guy king flatterer: *
behind him, or will the blue Alpe seated
You, fatal Vendée Republican

* Roman legions
* Umberto I

Note: today it is hard to go back to those days, everything has changed, no one would dream of riding the Apuan cliff to take revenge for the abuse. The Apuan Alps are injured, destroyed, excavators and unscrupulous workers, almost privileged, participating in this mess in the name of consumerism.
